Still Waters

Getting out of bed early in the morning has its rewards. Being at the lakeside of Derwentwater in the Lake district to catch the early summer sunrise over the distant mountains with a soft mist floating over the still waters surface reflecting the wonderful colours of the sky as day breaks is a wonderful sight.

Grounded

Ellan Frosted lake

A landscape covered in a crispy frost is one of my favourite subjects in landscape photography. Though the frost wasn’t particularly harsh, it was enough to mute the colours in the back ground giving the trees more separation and creating a wonderful reflection in the water.

Untroubled Water

A fine view at the start of the day. Wastwater found in the western part of the Lake District National park. Great Gable and Scarfel pike tower above the deepest lake in England as the warm sun casts its first light on the edges of the mountain tops.
